We value our association with SARIPA.
We had the pleasure of being represented at the annual SARIPA (South African Restructuring and Insolvency Practitioners Association) Conference held in George on 9 and 10 November 2022, and also at the golf day that preceded it on 8 November 2022.
We also had the privilege of being one of the sponsors of the golf day and we thank the organisers for allowing us the opportunity to do so.
Leading up to the conference, an essay competition was also arranged by the organisation’s Young Bloods, where we were also a sponsor. We congratulate the winners and trust that they enjoyed the conference as much as we did.
The highlights for us were:
- Connecting (and reconnecting) in person with people that share our passion for restructuring and insolvency
- Valuable insights into the views of:
- The president of INSOL (International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Professionals), Mr. Scott Atkins, who gave us valuable insights into the international state of the industry
- Our peers on issues relevant to the industry and its reputation. Various panel discussions were presented which were insightful, reflective and thought provoking
- The courts and counsel on the industry and its representatives. It was a privilege to have the insights of senior advocates and judges as to their views on the profession and what all of us can do to improve it
We were proud about the fact that our values are in line with that which the profession will continue to strive to make the norm, being that of honesty, trust and ethics.
